What it is

Finnegan's is built as a New York Irish bar of no particular vintage: dark wood, a long counter, tin ceiling, a stage in the corner for a musician. It has been here since the park opened and it is the room most likely to make you forget you are in a theme park, largely because it is dim and loud in the way an actual bar is dim and loud.

The menu is pub food done properly rather than ambitiously — fish and chips, shepherd's pie, burgers, a decent selection of Irish and craft beer on draft. Nothing on it will surprise you and nothing on it is bad.

The reason to book it is not the cooking. It is that this park has very few places to sit down for an hour with table service, and this is the one with the shortest booking lead time, the longest opening hours and the best atmosphere.

Our verdict

The best sit-down room in the park and the easiest booking. Not destination cooking, but a proper hour off your feet with a real pint, which at this park is worth more.

What to order

The dishes this kitchen is actually known for. Menus change seasonally, so treat this as what to look for rather than a guaranteed list.

Tips for Finnegan's Bar & Grill

  • Same-day availability is common here in a way it is not at Walt Disney World. Check on the morning of your visit before writing it off.
  • Sit at the bar if you are a party of one or two. Full menu, no wait, and the live musician is right there.
  • The outdoor tables catch the Blues Brothers set on the Delancey Street corner, which is the comfortable way to see that show in July.
  • It stays open later than most of the park's kitchens, which makes it a genuine option after the nighttime show.

Fish and Chips

Finnegan's Bar & Grill

$22.99

Battered white fish with thick-cut chips and tartare sauce, served in a dark pub dining room with a pint if you want one.

Our take: Solid pub cooking and the right order at Finnegan's. You are paying for an hour in a proper room with a proper pint, and on that basis it is fair value.

Shepherd's Pie

Finnegan's Bar & Grill

$23.99

Minced meat in gravy under a mashed potato crust, baked and served hot with vegetables in a pub dining room.

Our take: Good, and four dollars more than the same idea done better at the Leaky Cauldron. Order it here for the table service and the pint rather than because it beats the counter version.

Finnegan's Bar & Grill: common questions

Do you need a reservation at Finnegan's?

It helps at peak dinner but is far from essential, and same-day availability is common. Walk-ups at the bar are usually seated immediately with the full menu, which is the best option for one or two people.

Is Finnegan's good for families?

Yes. It is loud enough that a restless child is not a problem, the menu has straightforward options, and the live musician holds attention. It is a bar, but it functions as a family restaurant during the day.

How late does Finnegan's stay open?

Later than most kitchens in this park, which makes it one of the few genuine options after the nighttime lagoon show. Check the app on the day, since closing times move with the park's operating hours.
