How Long Is Every Universal Studios Hollywood Ride?

Universal Studios Hollywood is a small park with one enormous time commitment: the Studio Tour runs a full 60 minutes, longer than everything else in the park combined stands tall. Every other timed attraction runs 17 minutes or less, and several of the rides people queue longest for are over in five.

Knowing the lengths changes the plan. If the question is whether a lunch-time ride fits, the answer here is almost always yes — this page lists every duration the park publishes, for the standalone attractions and for the segments inside the Studio Tour.

The short version

  • The Studio Tour runs 60 minutes — the anchor of any plan.
  • The longest standalone show is WaterWorld at 17 minutes; DreamWorks Theatre runs 15.
  • The Simpsons Ride and Jurassic World — The Ride run 6 minutes each; Transformers and Mario Kart 5 each.
  • Flight of the Hippogriff is the shortest ride in the park at about 1 minute.
  • The eleven standalone timed rides and shows together total roughly 77 minutes of actual ride time.
  • King Kong 360 3-D and Earthquake are not standalone rides — they are 4- and 2-minute segments inside the Studio Tour.

The segments inside the Studio Tour

Two of the park's best-known moments are not rides you queue for separately — they are segments of the 60-minute Studio Tour, and their lengths are counted inside it:

What used to run and no longer does

Fast & Furious – Supercharged, the tour's projected chase finale, closed permanently on March 10, 2025. Its replacement is Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift — a standalone outdoor coaster that opened September 16, 2026, with four launches, three inversions, rotating cars and a 51-inch minimum.

The Animal Actors show and The Walking Dead Attraction are also closed. If a planning guide elsewhere quotes ride times for any of these, it is out of date.

The one-day time budget

The eleven standalone rides and shows — everything in the first table except the tour and the Starway — add up to roughly 77 minutes of actual ride time. Add the 60-minute Studio Tour and the full experience is still under two and a half hours of riding.

With waits, that is still a one-day park, which is the honest pitch: a full day here fits the tour, both headliner dark rides, the water ride and a show or two without rushing.

Short rides, long queues — how to use the lengths

The short lengths cut both ways. Revenge of the Mummy is about two minutes of ride for what can be a long queue; Flight of the Hippogriff is over in about a minute. Neither is a reason to skip them — it is a reason to ride them early and not to build the day around re-rides.

The Starway's five minutes are travel, not an attraction: it is the escalator link between the Upper and Lower Lots, and the Lower Lot's three rides are what it buys access to. Budget the ride down as part of the plan, not as down time.
