Epic Universe's height chart is a tale of two walls. The first is 40 inches: five of the park's nine height-checked rides sit exactly there, including both of its headliner dark rides. The second is 48 inches, where the three big coasters — Stardust Racers, Dragon Racer's Rally and Monsters Unchained — all begin.

Below 34 inches a child is limited to the park's no-minimum list, and at Epic that list is long: thirteen attractions, including a carousel, two family flat rides, a stage show, a playground and the wand experience, check no height stick at all.

The short version

  • 9 attractions at Epic Universe have a height minimum; 13 have none.
  • The lowest minimum is 34 inches, on Yoshi's Adventure.
  • 40 inches is the dominant wall: Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart, Mine-Cart Madness, Hiccup's Wing Gliders and Curse of the Werewolf all sit there.
  • 48 inches is the coaster wall: Stardust Racers, Dragon Racer's Rally and Monsters Unchained.
  • Every height-checked attraction offers Child Swap, free and with no booking.

The 40-inch wall, and what clears it

A child at exactly 40 inches can ride five of the park's nine height-checked attractions: Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart, Mine-Cart Madness, Hiccup's Wing Gliders and Curse of the Werewolf. That single inch is the most valuable one on the chart — it includes the park's technical centerpiece and its most popular family ride.

Below 40 but at 34, the list is Yoshi's Adventure alone among checked rides. Everything else for a 34-inch child comes from the no-minimum list below.

The 48-inch coaster wall

All three of Epic's thrill coasters start at 48 inches: Stardust Racers, the Celestial Park racing coaster; Dragon Racer's Rally on Isle of Berk; and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment in Dark Universe. There is nothing height-checked between 41 and 47 inches — a child at 44 rides exactly what a child at 40 rides.

Child Swap covers all three, so a family with one tall enough and one not can still ride them without anyone sitting out twice.

Everything with no height requirement

Thirteen attractions at Epic Universe check no height at all:

  • Constellation Carousel (Celestial Park)
  • Astronomica (Celestial Park)
  • Le Cirque Arcanus, the wizarding stage show
  • Interactive wand magic in the Ministry of Magic
  • Fyre Drill (Isle of Berk)
  • The Untrainable Dragon (Isle of Berk)
  • Viking Training Camp playground (Isle of Berk)
  • Meet Hiccup and Toothless (Isle of Berk)
  • Power-Up Band key challenges (Super Nintendo World)
  • Meet Mario and Friends (Super Nintendo World)
  • De Lacy's Cottage (Dark Universe)
  • Meet the Universal Monsters (Dark Universe)

How Epic's chart compares to the other Universal parks

Across the four US Universal parks there are 42 operating attractions with published numerical minimums, from 34 to 54 inches. Epic's own chart is friendlier than it looks: its most common minimum (40) clears both headliner dark rides, and only the three thrill coasters demand 48. The full four-park chart is in our Universal height requirements guide, and the Universal Studios Hollywood chart is here too.
